Prior Art Search Back to Services

We perform prior art searches and analysis to address the following:

  • Patentability
  • Invalidation
  • Freedom-to-Operate (FTO)

Patentability

This search identifies prior art in the patent domain as well as published scientific information that relates to the concept being patented. Patentability searches help identify the boundaries of the invention that is sought to be claimed. More often, this type of search opens up new possibilities and ideas for working the invention.

Invalidation

These searches  identify prior art dated before the priority date of the patent with the object of proving that the invention was not new when the patent application was filed.

Freedom-to-Operate (FTO)

A FTO search is conducted to ensure that the commercial production, marketing and use of a new product, process or service does not infringe the intellectual property rights of others. A well-researched FTO report could avoid costly infringement proceedings and delays in product release.

Our outstanding search reports are accurate, with observations and annotations that highlight key references. Our prior art searches have covered a range of technologies in the hi-tech and life sciences arena.
