Docketing Specialist (LA)

The job involves docketing our clients’ patents and trademarks in Web based docketing systems such as Foundation IP.  Additionally, appropriate candidates will have the opportunity to manage and supervise a small group of junior docketing specialists.

Qualifications: Any degree with paralegal certificate (preferred) or 5 - 7 years of relevant experience with intimate familiarity with patent prosecution process and due dates.

Experience: Requires a minimum of 5 years of experience preparing documents and filing with USPTO, e-filing, drafting basic patent office transmittals, responses to missing parts, information disclosure statements, foreign filing experience, including PCT applications and national stage applications, issue fee review, patent proof reading and maintaining a patent docket.

Candidates with real time docketing experience in Foundation IP would be an added advantage.

Location: Los Altos.

Data Analyst

The job requirements involve searching the Web or specialized databases and preparation of reports depending on specific requirements. Excellent comprehension and written communication skills are required.

Qualifications: Candidates with a graduate degree (or higher) in science or graduate degree in engineering in any discipline can apply. Diploma in patent law would be an added advantage.

Experience: Fresh candidates considered, candidates with relevant experience would be suitably compensated.

Location: Los Altos and Coimbatore.

Patent Agent

The job requires preparation and filing of patent applications and requires familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures with reference to the Indian patent system.

Qualifications: Degree in any discipline followed by diploma in patent law. Qualification as an Indian patent agent will be an added advantage.

Experience: At least One year experience in a patent law firm.

Location: Los Altos and Coimbatore.

Patent Specialists

MaxVal is looking for senior individuals with research experience in science or engineering who would like to consider a rewarding career in intellectual property-related work. The job requires ability to manage and train a team of analysts in preparation and review of reports to stringent quality requirements. Project management and client interactions will be part of the job function.

Qualifications: Ph.D. in science or engineering in any discipline, diploma in patent law or certification as a patent agent will be an added advantage.

Experience: Scientific research experience and leadership experience desirable.

Location: Los Altos and Coimbatore.

Paralegal Specialist (CBE)

The job involves understanding the basics of patents, develop skills in proofreading of technical documents, understanding and familiarizing with patent office procedures, preparation of reports and documents for filing at the patent office.

Excellent language skills, good computer skills, experience with proofreading desirable.

Qualifications: Any science degree, including law or Library Science - preferably M.Sc. Chemistry.

Experience: Fresher (with any science degree) can also apply. Having one year or more of experience in patent field is an added advantage.

Illustrator Team Lead

Illustrator Team Lead will be responsible for managing a team of illustrators to produce and deliver high quality illustrations to stringent quality requirements. He will be familiar with Web based communications, job tracking and quality control procedures. He will be skilled in creating line drawings, views and visualizations from verbal sketches or rough illustrations with minimal guidance or intervention. He will be proficient in software packages for image manipulation such as Adobe Illustrator. Must possess visualization skills to generate sectional and perspective views, outlines etc. using E-Drawings viewer.

Qualifications: Graduate degree in any discipline or diploma in engineering with excellent communication skills. Diploma or certification in visual art or design desirable.

Exposure to animation concepts and tools desirable.

Location: Coimbatore.

Database Specialists

The job involves creation and maintenance of complex relational databases in open source languages such as MySQL and web-based applications through ASP.NET.

Qualifications: Degree in engineering or MCA.

Experience: One year experience in ASP.NET programming desirable.

Location: Coimbatore.

Software Engineers

The job envisions creation of visualization tools for data mapping. Skill sets required are ASP.NET, VB.NET, JAVA, and J2EE. Ability to work independently will be an advantage.

Qualifications: Degree in engineering or MCA.

Location: Coimbatore.

Web Designers and Illustrators

Will be responsible for the design, creation, deployment and maintenance of web pages and related tools, technical drafting experience desirable. Experience with Adobe Illustrator or animation tools will be a significant plus.

Manager – Database Services

Manager – Database Services would be responsible for managing and delivering Maxval-IP’s patent-related database service business. He will work closely with (IT) to roll out and successfully launch new products and services. He would continuously maintain client contact and additionally, be aware of current changes in the industry. He would lead a team of analysts in creating and maintaining the databases. He would also assist the business development team and should be able to showcase Maxval’s service offerings. He would be well aware of developments in internet-based data transfer and through various media.

Qualifications and Requirements: The ideal candidate would be a graduate in engineering or masters in science or humanities with excellent management and people skills. While a diploma or certification in patent law would be desirable, familiarity with patent-related data or prior experience in this area would be essential.

Experience: He would have at least 3 years experience in servicing clients through Web-based data access.
